Diego Varela Pedreira
I studied economics at Universidade da Coruña and the Turku School of Economics (Finland), before obtaining an MSc in European Studies (with distinction) and a PhD in Government from the London School of Economics and Political Science. I was also a Robert Schuman scholar in the DG for Research of the European Parliament in Luxembourg. I have taught at a number of universities in the UK, Spain, and Romania, coordinated several Jean Monnet projects, and the first three editions of Universidade da Coruña's International Summer School (2014, 2015, 2016). I was also the first executive editor of the European Journal of Government and Economics between 2012 and 2016. I am the author of two books, on EU government (2008), and population policy (2017). My main interests are in the fields of EU, comparative and international politics.
